Should we have laws regarding marriage? Who is responsible for the success or failure of a marriage, the state? Does a marriage license ensure, or help in any way to increase the chances of success? Is it just so we can be taxed more efficiently?
Also, what makes a marriage valid? Does a religious ceremony? If so, what religion? Does the state? If so what state? What about states that have no marriage laws? Isn't marriage simply a covenant between a man, woman and God and the only party responsible for the success, failure or propriety of that marriage are the people entering into the agreement?
